The aim is to teach you to think innovatively and creatively, whilst tackling problems and find solutions.
We also run skill sessions and provide mentoring specifically designed to teach you essential business skills.

If you have an idea and don’t quite know how to take it forward come talk to us. We want to help you to make your dreams a success. Idea Tank is a service we offer to help students with their own start-ups and any current businesses they run. We will help you to make your ambitions a reality and save you the trouble of making as many mistakes as we have.

Projects
We are working for businesses and organisations on a whole range of products. This is an amazing opportunity to get unique experience on meaningful projects covering a wide range of skill sets.
Outline of how projects run. This can be dependent on the type of project.

Receive brief of project from a client.
Work with the client to create a requirement list – talk timescales, vision, benchmarks…
Recruit team members from talent pool.
Set up sprints, goals and deadlines. Run plan past mentors.
Split work between team members.
Regular updates for the client until they are happy with the project.
End of project celebration!
Keep supporting client.

As consultants, you will work and learn alongside industry leading mentors to deliver innovative solutions to help business in the UK. The projects range from marketing and data collection all the way to starting a business from scratch – allowing you to gain invaluable experience in a friendly environment.
The turnaround is very quick. There is a lot of work to do and plenty of team members to share the load - just like in the real world.

These skill sessions are specifically designed to equip students with the necessary business skills to succeed.
The skill sessions are run by industry professionals as well as members of the committee. They will be run in coordination with the current projects equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to help businesses think like startups.
